Perfect for any occasion

Set within the world famous city of Oxford, The Red Lion is easily accessible from across the country, whether you’re travelling by foot, road, or public transport.

There are fast and frequent direct bus services between central Oxford, Oxfordshire, and central London, including the X90 service which runs all day and most of the night, and the Oxford Tube, which runs 24/7.

If you’re travelling by car, the M40 and M4, A34 provide easy access from London, leaving the M40 at Junction 8, whilst the M40 links Birmingham to Oxford from the north, leaving at Junction 8.

Oxford has its own train station with regular services from across the country.

For those travelling to us from further afield, both London Heathrow Airport and Gatwick Airport are linked to Oxford by a coach service operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Keeping Busy in Oxford

Located in the heart of one of the most famous university cities in the world, The Red Lion is surrounded by history, architecture, and unique attractions.

With so much to see and discover, Oxford is a great city to explore on foot – take in the sights and sounds, and learn all about the history of the area, before visiting The Red Lion for a well-earned refreshing drink and bite to eat.

The Pitt Rivers Museum, Radcliffe Square, and the Botanic Gardens, are all worth a visit. You can also embark on a guided walk around the city – ensuring that you don’t miss out on any of the main attractions as you explore the quaint cobbled streets.

And, of course, no visit to this marvellous city would be complete without exploring some of the iconic ancient university buildings that the City of Dreaming Spires has become synonymous with. From the grandeur of Christ Church to the intimacy of Corpus Christi, each college has its own charm and character. Once you’ve finished college hopping, you’ll almost certainly be ready to tuck into a delicious dish off our seasonal menu.

Further afield, Oxfordshire has plenty to offer, including the rolling hills of the Cotswolds and the Cotswold Wildlife Park.
